Passport Renewal for Indian citizens in the UAE
Indian Embassy and Consulate services in the UAE support Indian citizens and applicants with passport renewal or reissue, Police Clearance Certificate (PCC), visa, attestation and other consular services.
Important update: with effect from 1 July 2026, BLS International and SGIVS Global are no longer the outsourced service providers of the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India, Dubai. Passport, Visa and Attestation services are now rendered directly by the Embassy and the Consulate from their own premises.
Appointments are booked online at book.passportindiauae.com (announced 5 July 2026). From 6 July 2026, walk-in services run only on a limited scale from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with priority for new-born baby cases and Emergency Certificates.
Applicants with a prior appointment are allowed entry 15 minutes before the appointment time. Only the applicant is allowed inside the premises, except for minor applicants where both parents may be present.

Per the Consulate General of India, Dubai notification dated 30 June 2026, uniformly applicable at the Embassy of India Abu Dhabi, CGI Dubai and Indian Consular Application Centres. Adult passports valid up to 10 years; minor passports 5 years or until age 18. Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) charges may apply additionally. When do you need Indian passport renewal support?
- Your Indian passport is expiring, expired, damaged or has no blank pages.

How do I book an Indian passport appointment in the UAE?
From 5 July 2026, appointments for Passport, Visa & Attestation services at the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India, Dubai are booked online at book.passportindiauae.com. Complete the passport application form at mportal.passportindia.gov.in/mission before your appointment, and upload pictures, signatures and documents carefully.
Are walk-ins still allowed at the Embassy or Consulate?
From 6 July 2026, walk-in services run only on a limited scale from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with priority for new-born baby cases and Emergency Certificates. All other service seekers are encouraged to book an appointment online to avoid long waiting times.
What are the entry rules for appointments?
Applicants holding a prior appointment are allowed entry 15 minutes before the appointment time. Only the applicant is allowed inside, except for minor applicants where both parents are required to be present. In Abu Dhabi, CPV services enter from the Main gate at Al Safarat Street; in Dubai, Passport & Visa applicants use Gate No. 2 and attestation queries Gate No. 1.
How are fees paid?
Applicable fees are received only in cash. Keep exact change, and note the new passport fee effective since 1 July 2026. Signatures and thumb impressions must be uploaded correctly with a clear white background.
