What is ICP?
ICP — the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security — is the UAE federal body that manages national identity and immigration records. It issues the Emirates ID, runs the population register, and handles residency, entry permits, Golden Visa and citizenship matters at federal level.
In Dubai, day-to-day residency visas are handled by GDRFA, while ICP manages Emirates ID nationwide and residency in several other emirates. Most residents deal with ICP whenever an Emirates ID is issued, renewed or replaced.

How do I check my Emirates ID or application status?
You can track the status on the ICP website or the ICP UAE smart app using your application (PRAN) number or Emirates ID number. Typing centres can also check on your behalf.

Renew within 30 days of expiry through the ICP app or website, or at an approved typing centre. You will usually need a valid residence visa, passport copy and the renewal fee; new biometrics may be requested.
