Indian passport & consular appointments in the UAE: new online portal, limited walk-ins

Alwahaa Group update — Indian consular services appointment portal at book.passportindiauae.com, effective 5 July 2026

The Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India, Dubai have announced (5 July 2026) that appointments for Passport, Visa & Attestation services are now booked online through a dedicated portal:

book.passportindiauae.com — the official appointment portal for Indian consular services in the UAE.

Until now, these services were being extended directly on a walk-in basis at the Embassy and Consulate premises. That changes from 6 July 2026.

What changed?

  • Online booking — all applicants can book Passport, Visa and Attestation appointments at book.passportindiauae.com.
  • Limited walk-ins — from 6 July 2026, walk-in services run only on a limited scale from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
  • Priority — walk-in priority is given to new-born baby cases and Emergency Certificates. Everyone else should book online to avoid long waiting times.

Entry rules at the Embassy and Consulate

  • Applicants with a prior appointment are allowed entry 15 minutes before the appointment time.
  • Only the applicant is allowed inside the premises — except minor applicants, where both parents are required to be present.
  • Abu Dhabi: entry for CPV (Consular, Passport, Visa) services is from the Main gate of the Embassy at Al Safarat Street. Document-delivery queries go to the Consular Wing at Unit No. 101, 1st Floor, Guardian Tower (Technip Building), Al Ishirah Street.
  • Dubai: Passport & Visa applicants enter from Gate No. 2; attestation services and other queries (document delivery, already-submitted applications, labour issues) are handled at Gate No. 1.

How to apply — step by step

  1. Fill the application form at mportal.passportindia.gov.in/mission — read the instructions carefully before uploading pictures, signatures and documents.
  2. Upload correctly — signatures and thumb impressions must be on a clear white background.
  3. Book your appointment at book.passportindiauae.com.
  4. Visit with a complete file — completely filled application form plus supporting documents.
  5. Pay in cash — applicable fees are received only in cash; keep exact change, and note the new passport fee effective since 1 July 2026.

Update: services now direct from the Embassy and Consulate + revised fees

With effect from 1 July 2026, BLS International and SGIVS Global are no longer the outsourced service providers of the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India, Dubai. Passport, Visa and Attestation services are now rendered directly by the Embassy and the Consulate from their own premises.

Passport fees were also revised from 1 July 2026 — a fresh or reissued 36-page passport is now AED 450 (Tatkal AED 900), a 60-page book AED 630 (Tatkal AED 1,080), lost/damaged replacements from AED 900, minors from AED 325, Emergency Certificate AED 60 and PCC or other miscellaneous certificates AED 145. See the full fee table on our Indian passport resource page, and the official CGI Dubai notice.
